Öcalan^s Lawyer : CPT should declare the İmralı Prison report

VAN- One of the PKK leader Abdllah Öcalan’s lawyer Nevroz Uysal said that the conditions Öcalan in , was transformed an extermination mechanism and CPT should share the details of their İmrali visitation.

One of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) imprisoned leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers Nevroz Uysal made statements about her client Öcalan’s prison conditions. Uysal reminded that as lawyers of Öcalan , they can’t visit to Öcalan since six years and an isolation is implemented on Öcalan.

“Therefore we are under the isolation since six years as well. Because we can’t do anything as lawyers on Öcalan’s defense. There is no any legal justification to deny our visitation’s applies” said Uysal.

Uysal also reminded the European of the Human Rights’ (ECHR) statement about the condition in İmralı Prison on 2014. “We launched a schedule  on having result and making pressure on international institutions because we don’t get any result from Turkish law anymore.  We are trying to make display lawlessness implementation by European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) and ECHR. Because ECHR had described the İmralı prison conditions as isolation and torture on 2014” said Uysal.

“Despite the tens of applications, CPT didn’t reply to any of those and also CPT didn’t share the information about last visitation of İmralı on 2016. CPT duty is preventing torture as part of European Council. They visited to İmralı prison on 28-29 April 2016 and they stated that they will make a press statement about the report of İmralı visitation but they didn’t make any statement yet. Why don’t they make statement about the visitation” said Uysal.
