ADIYAMAN – Discharged teacher by Decree with Power of Law Hüseyin Öztürk opened a charcuterie which sells village’s product with two friends. Öztürk had been discharged because of he attended union’s demonstration.


Laborers who worked for tens year are doing different jobs after they were discharged by Decree with Power of Law. Hüseyin Öztürk is one of the discharged teachers who had been worked as a teacher for 16 years. Öztürk had discharged on first November of 2016 by Decree with Power of Law. Turkish Literature teacher Öztürk is selling cheese, olive, yoghurt and honey in the charcuterie he opened. “I had to take care of my family. Despite anything happened, I resisted and I am doing a new job now” says Öztürk.


Öztürk says that he was discharged without any justification. “ I tried to find another job but I couldn’t. Then I decided to open a new charcuterie with my two other discharged teachers like me. I hope our entourages don’t leave us alone” said Öztürk.

Öztürk says his first activity after he became a teacher was to affiliating for Education and Science Workers’ Union (Eğitim Sen). “ Eğitim Sen is one of the dynamic, modern and organized structure of this country. Therefore I affiliated to Eğitim Sen. Since then I made an effort to raise the struggle of Eğitim Sen. All governments in Turkey were annoyed by Eğitim Sen’s activity. Not only for this period but also before Eğitim Sen was suffered from oppressions of the governments. We had already run the risk of punished, exiled when we decided to join in this struggle” said Öztürk
