Prisoners launch hunger strike against installed cameras on private spaces

ÇANKIRI – Politic prisoners in Çankırı Prison announced that they will start to hunger strike indefinitely on Monday against the installed cameras on the private spaces.

Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) prisoners had mentioned before that authorities of prison wanted to install camera on toilet, bathroom and cells but prisoner objected. Then prosecutor decide to not install the cameras on the private spaces. But according to families, prisoners said cameras were installed.

Prisoners’ relatives made a press statement and mentioned that prisoners will start to hunger strike indefinitely until cameras removed. Prisoners also called to human rights activists and parliamentarians to visit the prison and inspect the implementations.
