ANKARA – Directorate of TMMOB announced that they will vote ‘No’ to constitutional amendment which aims to establish dictatorial regime.

Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) directorate announced the decision about constitutional amendment and referendum process with written statement. “ Legislative, executive and jurisdiction will be gathered on one hand and an authoritative- totalitarian regime will be established” mentioned in the statement.


“ Separation of powers is core principal for developed and libertarian democracies. Constitution is common contract of society. Giving right a person which provides to dissolution of parliamentary without any justification is clearly a dictatorship. It is aimed to issue a juridical status for dictatorial regime.

Our organization say ‘No’ to constitutional amendment which is more reactionist than September 12 coup’s constitution and also which was prepared under the State of Emergency’s circumstances” mentioned in written statement
