MERSİN – Relatives of 14 days detained people in Mersin Police Headquarter said that detained people have a risk of death due to torture. Relatives also “ Detained 10 people can’t even receive a treatment more than 10 second.
It was documented by pictures that 10 people who are members of Pir Sultan Abdal Cultur Association and Peoples’ Association and kept in Mersin Police Headquarter since 14 days were tortured .
Eighty percent disabled Haydar Yıldırım’s wife Zeynep Yıldırım said that Her husband and other detained people are on hunger strike since they were taken into custody. Yıldırım “ They don’t have water to drink because of intensive torture implementations. At first days of hunger strike they didn’t even supply sugar and salt. We were pushing to prosecutor by lawyers channel but any of our demands were left unquestioned. Have none water may cause of devastative on body. Therefore conditions have to be fixed” said.
“ We worry about detained people’s life. I saw my husband when he was taken to hospital. He couldn’t not even stay stand. He and his friends were battered in front of the vehicle. The vehicle was in front of building. But no one was dropped. Doctor came and went inside the vehicle only for ten seconds then left. Justice Ministry says there is no torture but we saw what happened” said Yıldırım
